Client ID

On your client PC, right click your Network Neighbourhood icon, click properties and select the Identification tab. Type in the name of your client machine in the Computer name box. This can be anything you like, again I have used the OS, just keep each PC different.

Again the Workgroup can be anything you like, but it is recommended to be the same on both/all PC's.

Click the configuration tab and highlight the TCP/IP for your NIC, then click properties.

Note: You should only have one NIC in this PC, you may have other TCP/IP entries for modems or other communication devices, it is important that you select the one for the NIC.

The Gateway and DNS settings will stay the same.

Client DNS

Click on the DNS . Configuration tab, tick Enable DNS , type in the Computer name as it is in the Client ID section.

In the Domain  box type in your full Domain name, (this can be found by clicking here), you will be asked for your main account username and password, then it will display " mail " followed by your domain name.

It should look similar to mine apart from the Node (blktn1), and the state (nsw), in my case).

The whole thing should read
blktn1.nsw.optusnet.com.au
(change blktn1 and nsw to your Node and State).

Click Ok and let your PC restart then continue to the next section.
